Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions govern the provision of building, carpentry, landscaping and related services by KAP Woodwork & Building Services Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England. By engaging our services you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Quotations & Estimates
All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on the information provided to us at the time and may be subject to change if circumstances or requirements alter. A quotation becomes a binding agreement once accepted in writing by both parties.
3. Payment Terms
Payment terms will be agreed in writing before work commences. A deposit may be required before work begins on larger projects. Stage payments may apply for extended projects. Final payment is due upon satisfactory completion of the agreed works. Late payments may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act.
4. Scope of Work
The scope of work will be clearly defined in the agreed quotation or contract. Any additional work requested during the project will be quoted separately and must be agreed in writing before being carried out. We reserve the right to sub-contract specialist elements of the work where appropriate.
5. Timescales
We will endeavour to complete all works within the timeframe agreed. However, completion dates are estimates and may be affected by factors beyond our control, including adverse weather, material supply delays, or unforeseen site conditions. We will keep you informed of any significant changes to the programme.
6. Materials
Unless otherwise agreed, we will supply all materials required for the works. Materials will be of a quality appropriate to the project. Where you supply materials, we accept no liability for defects in those materials. Title in materials passes to you upon full payment.
7. Guarantees & Defects
We guarantee our workmanship for a period of 12 months from completion. This does not cover fair wear and tear, misuse, or damage caused by third parties. Manufacturer warranties on materials and products are passed on to you where applicable. Any defects must be reported to us in writing within the guarantee period.
8. Cancellation
Either party may cancel the agreement by providing written notice. If you cancel after work has commenced, you will be liable for the cost of work completed to date plus the cost of any materials purchased. We reserve the right to retain any deposit paid to cover costs incurred.
9. Liability
We maintain appropriate public liability insurance for the duration of any project. Our liability is limited to the value of the contract. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from our work. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
10. Disputes
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter amicably in the first instance. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute may be referred to mediation. These terms are governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction.
